How do I get to the conference venue - RACV Royal Pines, The Dorsett Gold Coast and Elite Gold Coast?

The address of Royal Pines is Ross St, Benowa, QLD. You should all have received your flight information (if applicable) by now. Once you disembark your plane at the Gold Coast or Brisbane Airports, you will need to make your way to the coaches waiting to transport you to your allocated hotel. The coaches will have the destination hotel displayed.

QLD and Port Macquarie delegates will be travelling by coach on the Sunday afternoon. As there are so many of us attending this year, we have had to book some overflow accommodation at the Dorsett and Elite hotels You will be notified when you register which hotel has been booked for you.

I'm staying at the Dorsett or the Elite Hotel, how do I get to the Conference?

Buses will be transporting delegates from the Elite hotel to the RACV Royal Pines dinner on Sunday 12th July. Delegates staying at the Dorsett will have a welcome buffet dinner at the Harvest buffet in the Start complex (a 2 minute walk from the hotel). Buses will transport delegates too and from the overflow hotels to the RACV Royal Pines for the conference.

What happens if I miss my bus?

Please endeavour to ensure you arrive to your bus 10 minutes prior to its scheduled departure. If for any reason you miss your bus, you will be required to organise your own transport to or from the conference at your own expense.

Who is speaking at the Conference?

See the conference Schedule.

When will I get my Conference Polo and when am I meant to wear it?

When you arrive at the RACV Royal Pines and have checked in, you will head down to pre-registration in the lobby of the Conference hall to collect your Polo shirt and lanyard. There will also be the opportunity to collect your shirt and lanyard on the Monday morning as you head in to the first session. Everyone will wear their Polo shirts on Tuesday 14th of July.

Is there parking available at the conference venue?

Yes. If you are driving your own vehicle to the conference, there will be parking available at both the RACV Royal Pines and the overflow hotels.

What is the conference dress code?

During conference sessions, please dress according to your school's standard dress code (i.e. a regular school day).

Gala Dinner

The dress code for the Gala Dinner on Monday night is Western. Denim is permissible at this dinner.

Ladies: Let your imagination run wild! This could be a maxi skirt or dress paired with boots or moleskins and a collared shirt.
Men: Long pants and a western style shirt, brass belt buckles and shoe string ties add a nice western touch.

If the Conference doesn't start until Monday, what do I do on Sunday night?

There are two concurrent welcome dinners on Sunday night depending on your designated hotel. Those staying at the RACV Royal Pines or the Elite Hotel will attend a welcome dinner on the tennis courts at the RACV Royal Pines. For guests staying at the Dorsett, we have arranged for you to dine at the Harvest Buffet in the Star complex - a short stroll from your accommodation.

There is no need for those staying at the Dorsett to come to the RACV Royal Pines until Monday morning.

I have allergies or dietary needs. What happens at the Gala dinner?

The Gala Dinner is a plated meal with allocated seating, so there are a few extra steps if you have confirmed dietary requirements or a severe allergy:

  1. When you collect your admission ticket, Outback Spectacular staff will ask whether you have any dietary requirements or allergies.
  2. You will then be directed to a dedicated dietary line, where staff will tick off your name and note your allocated seat.
  3. At the table, staff will come around to reconfirm dietary requirements. Please note the entrée is pre-set, so if you are unsure whether a dish is safe for you, ask your dedicated waitstaff to confirm before eating.

Important: if you do not mention your dietary requirement or allergy when collecting your ticket, the venue cannot guarantee the correct meal will be in front of you when you take your seat.

What is CEM's position on alcohol consumption during the Conference?

As a Christian organisation it is imperative that we present ourselves in a Godly and professional manner and that we are encouraging one another in good deeds and are not a stumbling block to those around us. For this reason, we have a policy whereby staff are not permitted to use company funds to purchase alcohol nor are they permitted to consume alcohol while representing the company at any functions or events conducted by us. Please ensure you are not purchasing alcohol with CEM funds.

When am I going to get my ticket for my flight?

There will not be any physical tickets. The travel agent will send a final confirmation email to everyone about flights, which will have a booking reference number which you will be able to use to check in to your flight at the airport. This email should be sent out by the end of June. If you have not received your ticket by then please contact conference@cem.com.au.

For those that usually use an app to check in, unfortunately as this is a group booking, you will not be able to check in on the app. You will need to check in at the airport.

How do I install the app on my phone?

Adding the conference portal to your home screen gives you one-tap access to the schedule, even when offline, and push announcements during the week. The steps differ slightly by phone and browser.

Open the step-by-step install guide. It detects your device and shows you exactly what to tap.

Who should I contact if I have any questions about the conference?

Please direct all conference enquiries to conference@cem.com.au. During conference, there will be 'CEM Conference Assistants' available to help delegates with anything and everything.
